RUST PROCESS

Rusting Process and Surface Compatibility:

Initially, the material may produce rust stains on surfaces.
Optimal surfaces to mitigate staining include grass, pebbles, or sand during the initial rusting phase.
After the oxidation process (which may span up to one and a half years), the material no longer leaves rust stains and can be placed on any surface without issue.

Protective Rust Layer and Corrosion Resistance: The material naturally forms a protective rust layer due to weather exposure.
This layer acts as a shield, preventing it from rusting through.
Avoiding constant exposure to water helps maintain the longevity of the rust protection.

Development of the Rust Layer:
The rusting process occurs in four stages, typically reaching stage 3 for fire pits.
Although fire pits may exhibit a rusty brown color, complete rust formation can take up to 18 months.
The duration of the process is influenced by the product’s location and prevailing weather conditions.

Accelerating Rust Formation:
Speed up the rusting process by applying saltwater using a plant sprayer.
Alternatively, a mixture of natural vinegar and water can expedite the development of the rust patina on the material.

Minimal Maintenance and Rust Control:
This material requires minimal maintenance as it naturally forms its protective rust layer.
Included spray can be used to manage or halt the rusting process if desired, preventing damage to the surrounding area.

Durability and Recyclability:
It boasts a lengthy lifespan and finds applications in various industries like shipbuilding and bridge construction.
Its recyclability is notable; it can be melted down for reuse due to its lack of a chemical protective layer.
